Otherwise, you can buy the game at GOG.com or through Steam. Where can I get it If you have an old CD copy sitting around, youre good - move on to step two. Youll need to have a copy of RCT2 before beginning. If you want to know all the console commands, the best place to look is in console.c, since it's always up to date and there doesn't seem to be much documentation on this. Get RCT2 OpenRCT2 needs the object files (containing graphics, sounds and models) from the original RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 to work.

I implemented a command to change the speed and acceleration of powered rides, but it never got merged. The only other command that acts on rides is "rides set type" for changing track and vehicle types. If you want to know exactly what the default value was, easiest way is to take a look at the rides. If you only want to reset to default, you can just double close and reopen the ride. You could cut that down by assuming all trains have the same friction value - it is a pretty safe assumption but it isn't necessarily the case. So you'd have a different friction value for vehicle to show. It would be a bit awkward because I took a shortcut with implementing the friction command - friction is actually set per-car, not per ride. No command is implemented to show the current friction value. Is there any way to find out what its default setting is and are there any other similar variables?

Edited Octoby showed me how to change friction. It looks like they only accept numbers (either integers and decimal), except for climate, which can take either an integer or a string that's one of: cool_and_wet, warm, hot_and_dry, or cold.

There are also issues with game command ghosts affecting peep behavior on client only, like placing paths, that will cause desync. Anytime scenario_rand is called it will affect the rest of the game state, so util_rand needed to be used instead. The flag was determining if scenario_rand would be called. This was not only being affected by asynchronicity but also whether the player had sound on or off in their config.

Another example was in climate.c, a flag was being set based on if the thunder sound was playing. I think I found about five of them but it is really hard and it would be good to have more people to search. There was a need for a sprite for the Options Tab at the time so I offered to give a whack at it. There should be an undertaking to find the root source of the desyncs and fix that.
